Powers/Abilities: genius card sharp; handy with cut-throat razor (his preferred weapon), dagger, throwing knives and a garrotte; some magical ability (casting wards and protective circles)
Personality: Cynical, streetwise and clinically psychopathic, Sabbat isn’t the easiest person to get along with. He has an intense dislike of physical contact (can we say paranoia?), extending into even a refusal to shake hands with people he doesn’t trust, and has a rather disturbingly sadistic streak when his blood’s up.
History: Sabbat is the son of a tavern wench/prostitute and one of her customers (probably a pirate). He was raised (or rather, occasionally looked after) by the kitchen maids and serving wenches until the age of six, when he was adopted by his uncle, a ropemaker. Finding that rope-making was something he did not excel at, and discovering that other trades (such as card sharping, pickpocketing and cat burglary) were more suited to his talents, young Sabbat spent more and more time on the streets and less and less in his uncle’s workshop. When he reached the age of eighteen he signed aboard the ‘Crimson Arrow’, a notorious pirate ship, and, after a disastrous night raid the next year, met a man (well, vampire), who was to become first his friend and then, eventually, his lover – William Archer.
After ten years of sailing, Sabbat and Archer decided to leave the roving life behind and settled down in the city of Sacaan, where Sabbat soon became infamous as an assassin and a gambler. And now he finds himself in Babylon. Alone. And he is not pleased.
